Dan was born and raised in Connecticut, and moved to San Diego in 1973. Commencing in 1979 Dan practiced as a plaintiffs' attorney, first specializing in personal injury and then intellectual property litigation. His legal background gives him an excellent foundation to understand many of the complex issues facing non-profit associations, endowments, and foundations. Dan graduated with Honors from the University of California Riverside in 1971 with a pre-med major in biology. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Western State University College of Law in 1978, and since that time has been a member of the California State Bar Association. Since 1996, Dan has been a Financial Consultant and Board Certified Financial Planner. He is now with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney with a focus assisting wealthy families and non-profits.
