Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, Community Outreach

On August 21st, the San Diego Business Journal recognized Fresh Start as a Community Outreach Honoree at the 2008 Health Care Champions Awards. 22 honorees were selected out of 72 finalists for their contributions to the health care community!

Mandi Farmer, Volunteer of the Year
|
On September 25th, Combined Health Agencies honored Mandi Farmer as a 2008 Volunteer of the Year. During the awards, 25 individuals were recognized for their contributions to the local health community. Mandi works at Old Navy in Escondido, and actively recruits her peers to volunteer at Fresh Start events. Her own store manager said, “When Mandi talks about helping Fresh Start, she has a contagious enthusiasm and passion for the cause and you are compelled to volunteer along with her. She makes it fun and everyone feels really good giving back!”

Amanda Gosman, MD, Honoree

| On October 23rd the San Diego Business Journal recognized Amanda Gosman, MD as an Honoree at the 15th Annual Women Who Mean Business Awards. Dr. Gosman is the director of pediatric plastic surgery and an assistant professor of surgery for UCSD Division of Plastic Surgery. These jobs alone can keep a person busy, yet Dr. Gosman also manages to find the time to act as a key volunteer surgeon with Fresh Start! |
