She was born with a giant hairy nevus which carries a 10% risk of becoming cancerous. Her procedures included the insertion of a tissue expander to create more skin to graft over the area where the hairy nevus was removed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-712 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.freshstart.org\/espanol\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/patient_stories__0010_Kassy-Before-300x201-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" \/>Her treatment will continue with laser sessions to reduce and soften the scar. To date Kassy has received free medical care valued at $180,583.
