James Chao, M.D.

Dr. James Chao is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery at University of California, San Diego. He received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine and completed his general and plastic surgery training at the world-renown Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at NYU Medical Center.

Dr. Chao’s special interests include cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the hand and upper extremity, body contour surgery, and the development of new technologies in the field of plastic surgery.
