SAN DIEGO – December 5, 2023 Fresh Start Surgical Gifts and TrueCare unite to provide a heartwarming holiday gift of free medical evaluations for low-income children in need of reconstructive surgery and corrective medical care.
The walk-in screening clinic will be held at TrueCare Mission Mesa Pediatrics, 2210 Mesa Drive, Oceanside, CA 92054, on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Fresh Start Surgical Gifts and TrueCare believe that every child deserves a fresh start, regardless of their socioeconomic background, insurance status or income. This partnership exemplifies their commitment to making this vision a reality.
By joining forces, these organizations aim to reach even more children in need and provide extra care to patients who can’t afford reconstructive or life-changing medical care, such as that offered by Fresh Start Surgical Gifts.

Fresh Start Surgical Gifts has been dedicated to transforming the lives of disadvantaged children with physical and cosmetic deformities. Since 1991, they have successfully helped over 9,017 children by hosting twelve surgery weekends per year. As a nonprofit community health center, TrueCare serves a diverse patient population, with 94.1% of patients below 200% of the federal poverty level and 78.6% being racial and ethnic minorities. A significant portion (40%) of their patients prefer a language other than English.
