A Southern California service and program dedicated to providing care to children and young adults who have been branded and abused by human traffickers.
Fresh Start Surgical Gifts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been providing no-cost surgeries for children with physical deformities in the San Diego area for over 32 years. To further meet the needs of children and young adults, Fresh Start created a new program called Unbranded for a Fresh Start. This program offers free tattoo removal, scar revision and related medical services for survivors of human trafficking in Southern California.
Unfortunately, San Diego is ranked among the 13th worst human trafficking hotspots in the U.S. according to the FBI. Up to 8,000 children fall victim to trafficking in San Diego County each year.
Unbranded services offer to transform the lives of human trafficking survivors by providing tattoo removal, scar revision and related medical services, private appointments, full confidentiality with no ID required, in a safe and supportive environment — and all at absolutely no cost, giving them a fresh start.
